The project Dental Community has as a goal to develop preventive education for oral health, mainly for non-associations and groups of unprivileged children.
It started in 1992, with enrollment of faculty and dental professionals, in the occasion of the 15º CIOSP. It has provided benefits for thousand of children since then.
I March 2001, the project Dental Community updated its methodology, according to the need and problems if the communities, developing the oral health agent, children and teenagers who develop community jobs all year long. Such agents have multiplied information, teaching at their own communities. Such jobs with formative and educational characteristics, let people know about the need of preventive care in Dentistry. Members of the dental community project, dentists and under-graduate students, develop throughout addressed activities motivation about dental care. Consequently, self esteem and quality of life are improved. These are true citizens.
Since 2001, 400 agents have been graduated, and they have transmitted the related knowledge to 8.000 children, teenagers and adults, during all the subsequent meetings.

The project 25º CIOSP Dental Community develops activities with many partners, targeting for multiplication of information, throughout lecturing given by dentists in the APCD headquarter.

The project has as main goal to allow knowledge acquire, skills development, attitude modeling and many other benefits to health, giving to the subjects knowledge to ask for better conditions for them, for their family and their community.
